EAS
Stuctured EFA - 120 capsules
Structured EFA dietary supplement contains vitally
important essential and conditionally essential fatty acids which
may be lacking in many athletes' diets. A deficiency of these indispensable
nutrients has been linked to compromised function of several very
important metabolic systems.
Regular supplementation with Structured EFA ensures
essential fatty acids, such as omega-6, omega-3, EPA, DHA, CLA,
and GLA, are available to support the optimal metabolic response
to intense exercise in areas including: Hormone Production Muscle-Tissue
Repair Insulin Metabolism Fat Burning
Q: I'm thinking about trying the EAS supplement
Structured EFA, but I'm concerned about raising my intake of fats.
Can you explain the difference between saturated and unsaturated
fats?
A: It's important to remember that there are two
different types of fats: saturated and unsaturated. There are also
several variations of each, like polyunsaturated, monounsaturated,
hydrogenated, partially hydrogenated, medium-chain, short-chain,
etc. Structured EFA includes only unsaturated fats. Saturated fats
are the kind usually found in meat and dairy products. Your body
can use them for energy, but not much else.
If you eat too many of them, day in and day out,
chances are you'll gum up your arteries and suffer from a host of
physical problems. Unsaturated fats generally come from plant products,
and your body uses them to construct cell membranes, support nerve
function, and produce hormones, among other things. Your body can
also use them for energy if the more vital roles of these fatty
acids listed above have been fulfilled.
Q: I'm currently using CLA, but I read
about Structured EFA from EAS. How is it different from CLA?
A: Many of the benefits of CLA supplementation
will also be found with Structured EFA since CLA is contained in
it. Keep in mind that conjugated linoleic acid, or CLA, is not an
essential fatty acid; however, it is considered "conditionally
essential." This means that unlike the essential fatty acids,
you can live without it. But under certain conditions, like the
stress imposed by intense training, CLA can have some very compelling
effects on metabolism.
Recognizing the importance of essential fatty
acids (EFAs) in maximizing the positive effects of exercise, the
research scientists at EAS have engineered a very unique fatty acid
supplement designed for athletes. This scientifically designed supplement
includes a precise mixture of essential fatty acids, CLA, and cofactors
that scientific studies show may support athletes' efforts to build
muscle, burn fat, and maintain optimum health.
Beyond the fact that your body can't manufacture
essential fatty acids, which are necessary for life, another benefit
that is specific to Structured EFA is its potential effect on the
production of "prostaglandins," which are hormone-like
substances that influence all cellular activities including your
body's metabolism.
Prostaglandins have a multitude of positive effects
in your body, e.g., they can relax blood vessels, improve circulation,
lower blood pressure, help remove excess sodium and excess fluid,
and much more. Consuming the recommended daily dose of Structured
EFA provides a rich array of fatty acids, including 1,800 mg of
flaxseed oil as a rich source of linoleic acid, 1,200 mg of fish
oil containing DHA and EPA, 600 mg of evening primrose oil, 600
mcg of Vitamin A, and 1,200 mg of CLA.
