Bar - Protein Power Bars - 12 per box
Power Bar has fueled more world class athletes
to championships and records than any other energy bar! Produced
by PowerBar Inc.'s state-of-the-art facility in Boise, Idaho, USA
by people dedicated to providing the highest quality energy bars
in the world.
- Low fat. PowerBar contains less than
2.5 grams of fat, which is naturally present in ingredients such
as grains, cocoa, peanut and other nut butters. With less than
10% of calories from fat, PowerBar is an excellent low fat energy
source for athletes and active people on-the-go.
- Complex carbohydrates. PowerBar contains maltodextrin
(a complex carbohydrate from corn), brown rice, and oat bran.
About 65 percent of PowerBar's 45 grams of carbohydrates are complex
carbohydrates.
- Simple carbohydrates. Fructose, which comes
from corn, grapes, and pears, is the main source of quick energy
in PowerBar. About 35 percent of PowerBar's 45 grams of carbohydrates
are simple carbohydrates.
- High quality milk protein (lactose removed).
PowerBar contains high quality milk protein, with the lactose
(milk sugar) removed.
- Free-form amino acids. More than 200 mg. of
high quality, free-form amino acids-leucine, valine and isoleucine-are
added to each Power Bar.
- Vitamins and minerals. Power Bar delivers
the vitamins and minerals vital for energy metabolism, including
100 percent of the U.S. RDA of vitamins C, E, and the B-complex
vitamins, and 30 to 35 percent of essential minerals such as iron,
zinc, calcium, and magnesium.
- Fiber. The oat bran in PowerBar provides high
quality soluble fiber.
- A high energy-to-weight ratio. PowerBars won't
melt, break or crumble under adverse conditions. This makes PowerBar
an ideal food to take on mountain climbing expeditions, hikes,
rafting trips or bike races.
- A twelve-month shelf life, thanks to the mylar
wrapper. Each bar is coded with a 'best by' date and needs no
refrigeration. Keep PowerBars in the glove compartment, a purse,
briefcase, desk drawer, fanny pack or backpack for energy when
it's needed most.
Power bar Benefits
- Before Intensive Efforts Try chunks
of PowerBar 15-60 minutes before hard workouts. A whole or partial
PowerBar can be eaten much closer to the start of activity than
many foods. Allow a little extra time before competitions because
nervous tension may slow digestion.
- During Prolonged Events Such as races, triathlons,
long hikes or other exercise that lasts more than two hours. Eat
one bar per hour of activity, or break the bar into smaller chucks
and eat at intervals.
- After Your Activity One Power Bar immediately
after intensive activity as a source of essential energy related
nutrients.
- As a Snack Keep a few Power Bars on hand for
a low-fat, convenient snack. Packed with carbohydrates, they will
satisfy hunger for hours and provide extra energy while you’re
on-the-go.
- As Nutrition Insurance Power Bars are loaded
with vitamins, minerals and branched-chain amino acids, so they
help you meet your body's nutritional requirements.
